1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or book a service with Denise Beckett. Brighouse Hypnotherapy Ltd (company number 17291041) operates the Brighouse Mind & Body Practice website from 4–8 Bridge End, Brighouse, HD6 3DH.
You can contact Denise at denise@brighousemindandbody.co.uk or on 01484 887209.
2. Independent practitioners
Practitioners featured at Brighouse Mind & Body Practice are self-employed and are responsible for their own professional services, client records, fees, availability, cancellation terms and insurance. When you book with a practitioner other than Denise, your agreement is with that practitioner. Please ask them about any terms that apply before booking.
Website enquiries are received by Denise. If your enquiry is for another practitioner, relevant details may be passed to that practitioner so they can respond to you.
3. Services and professional standards
Denise provides solution-focused hypnotherapy subject to an initial discussion and clinical suitability. She holds recognised hypnotherapy qualifications, including DSFH and HPD, is associated with AfSFH, NCH and CNHC, is DBS checked and registered with the DBS Update Service, and maintains appropriate professional insurance.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Results differ between individuals and no particular outcome or timescale can be guaranteed. Information on this website is general information only and is not medical advice, diagnosis or a substitute for care from a doctor or other qualified health professional.
The practice is not an emergency or crisis service. If there is an immediate danger to life, call 999. For urgent medical help that is not life-threatening, contact NHS 111 or your GP.
4. Booking and payment
Appointments may be booked directly or through the booking service linked from this website. Please provide accurate contact information and tell the practitioner promptly if anything relevant to the safety or suitability of treatment changes.
The price and payment method will be made clear when you book. For appointments with Denise, payment is normally taken or actioned on the day of the appointment. Other practitioners set and collect their own fees.
5. Cancellations, missed appointments and lateness
For appointments with Denise, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or an appointment is missed, up to 100% of the appointment fee may be charged. Exceptional circumstances may be considered at Denise’s discretion.
If Denise needs to cancel, the appointment will be rearranged and any payment carried forward. If a suitable replacement appointment cannot be agreed, any payment already made for that appointment will be refunded.
If you arrive late, the session may still need to finish at the original time and the full fee may remain payable. Other practitioners have their own cancellation, missed appointment and lateness policies.
6. Clients under 18
Denise works with clients aged 9 and over. Written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required before treatment of anyone under 18. The level of parent or guardian involvement will be discussed with the young person’s welfare, privacy and safeguarding needs in mind. Other practitioners may have different age criteria and consent arrangements.
7. Confidentiality and safeguarding
Information shared in therapy is treated confidentially. Limited information may be shared where you have consented, where it is needed to arrange care or a referral, where there is a serious concern about the safety of you or another person, for safeguarding, or where disclosure is required by law.
Denise may discuss clinical work with a professional supervisor to support safe and ethical practice. Only a client’s first name is used and no other directly identifying details are shared. Where appropriate, and with consent or where otherwise necessary for safety, Denise may communicate with a GP, psychiatrist or other relevant professional.
8. Online appointments
For an online appointment, you are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection and a private, safe place to take part. Technology can fail, so an alternative arrangement will be agreed if a session cannot continue.
9. Using this website
Please use the website lawfully and do not attempt to damage it, interfere with its security or misuse its content. Website information may be updated, corrected or withdrawn. Links to third-party websites and booking services are provided for convenience; those services have their own terms and privacy notices.
Unless stated otherwise, the website’s text, branding and other content belong to Brighouse Hypnotherapy Ltd or are used with permission. You may view and print content for personal use, but you must not reproduce it commercially without written permission.
10. Responsibility and liability
Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
To the extent permitted by law, Brighouse Hypnotherapy Ltd is not responsible for the independent professional acts or omissions of self-employed practitioners, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the service was booked.
11. Complaints
Please raise a concern with the practitioner involved first so they have an opportunity to resolve it. Complaints about Denise can be sent in writing using the contact details above. If a concern cannot be resolved directly, you may be able to use the complaints process of the relevant professional body or register, including AfSFH, NCH or CNHC.
Concerns about the use of personal information are dealt with under the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in force when you book will apply to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts that apply to you under consumer law.
